The Coalition used aerial imagery analyzed by Dr. Sarah Parcak, National Geographic Explorer and Egyptologist from the University of Alabama at Birmingham to examine looting across Egypt, and the results were unsettling.
These images show the progression of looting at key locations Egypt less than six months after the January, 2011 revolution. The dark spots are the pits dug by looters; the increased presence of these pits show that continues to get worse as looters invade sites and steal Egypt’s past.
