But as the cost of antiquities continues to skyrocket, organized criminals, armed insurgents, and terrorist networks are now turning to cultural racketeering. With each artifact looted from an archaeological site, and then sold onto the black market, they alone profit.
The rest of us lose a piece of history forever.
