Cultural racketeering is a multi-billion dollar illegal industry that funds organized crime, armed conflict, and terrorism. But when compared to similar transnational crimes — from arms running, to drug smuggling, or even the illicit wildlife trade — there is much we still do not know. The Antiquities Coalition is thus working with leading experts to better quantify and qualify cultural racketeering, in order to develop better solutions for safeguarding our shared cultural heritage.
