Neo has always questioned his reality, but the truth is far beyond his imagination. Neo is targeted by police when approached by Morpheus, a legendary computer hacker tagged by a government terrorist. Morpheus awakens Neo to the real world, a devastated land where most of humanity has been trapped by a race of machines that live off the heat of the human body and electrochemical energy and trap their thoughts in an artificial reality called the Matrix. As a rebel against the machines, Neo must return to the Matrix and confront the agents: extremely powerful computer programs dedicated to killing Neo and all human rebellion.
